COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

Cookie policy.

How the WordPress and WooCommerce website uses essential, analytics, preference and advertising technologies.

01

What cookies are

Cookies are small files or values stored on a device when a website is used. Similar technologies can store or access information for security, functionality, measurement or advertising.

02

Your choices

Strictly necessary technologies can operate without consent where they are essential to provide a service requested by the visitor. Analytics and advertising storage default to denied until the visitor makes an active choice.

The site provides equally clear controls to accept or reject non-essential cookies, category choices and a persistent Cookie Settings control in the footer. Simply continuing to browse is not treated as consent.

03

Planned categories

Strictly necessary
Basket, checkout, account security, load balancing, fraud prevention and consent-record functions required to provide the requested service.
Preferences
Optional choices that remember presentation or functionality preferences where used.
Analytics
Google Analytics through Google Site Kit, used only after consent to understand site usage and performance.
Advertising
Google AdSense technologies, if enabled later, used only after the required consent and configured privacy controls.
04

Expected technologies

  • WooCommerce may use basket and session cookies such as woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart and wp_woocommerce_session_*.
  • WordPress may use authentication and account-security cookies for signed-in users.
  • SiteGround Speed Optimizer and Security Optimizer may use or generate technical data needed for caching, security or traffic protection.
  • Google Analytics commonly uses identifiers such as _ga and _ga_*. These must not be set before consent where consent is required.
  • Google AdSense may use advertising cookies or similar identifiers when that service is introduced.
05

Google Site Kit and Rank Math

Google Site Kit is planned for Analytics and, later, AdSense. Rank Math will be used for search-engine optimisation with its analytics feature disabled, so Google will be the intended analytics provider.

Installing a service does not remove the need to configure consent, data retention and privacy settings correctly.

06

Cookie duration

The final cookie table will list each cookie or technology, provider, purpose and duration after the production configuration has been audited. Browser controls can also delete or block cookies, although blocking essential cookies may prevent basket, checkout or account functions from working.

07

How the consent system works

The WordPress theme provides the consent interface, records the choice in a strictly necessary first-party cookie for 180 days and lets it be changed from the footer. It sends denied defaults for Google analytics and advertising storage before WordPress outputs measurement tags, then updates those signals when a choice is saved.

The system also attempts to remove first-party Google analytics or advertising cookies when consent is withdrawn. The complete setup will be tested again against the final Google Site Kit, SiteGround and AdSense configuration before launch.
